| Abstract | This paper describes the Language Technology Resource Center (LTRC), a United States Government website for providing information and tools for users of languages (e.g., translators, analysts, systems administrators, researchers, developers, etc.) The LTRC provides information on a broad range of products and tools. It also provides a survey where product developers and researchers can provide the U.S. Government and the public with information about their work. A variety of reports are generated, including reports of all tools of a given type in a given language or dialect. Information is provided about standards, professional organizations, online resources, and other resources. The LTRC was developed and is run by MITRE, a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), on behalf of the U.S. Government. One of the major challenges for the future is to identify and provide information on the many new tools that are appearing. International collaboration is critical to cover this number of tools. |
