Abstract The paper presents an experiment aiming at verifying whether the rich connectivity of two Italian Language Resources, ItalWordNet and CLIPS, can be exploited to support inference for Question Answering. The methodology for the creation of primitive inferential rules from the ItalWordNet and CLIPS semantic relations is described. We also introduce some preliminary results about the usefulness of such inferential rules for QA.
